Hello again! Very sorry for not updating this as regularly as I should, I got bogged down in a lot of work! So to make up for my long absence, here is a Juliet bonanza. A selection of pages which highlight her beauty, passion and determination. Including a spiderman sty-lee kiss ^o^Click on the thumbnails to be taken through to the full size pages:
I thought I'd share this as it looks quite different to some of the pages so far....and my, my, my....what COULD be happening here? ^_~Things are certainly hotting up!
So - Poor old Laertes, eh?He has returned to Denmark to demand revenge for the death of his father - and what does he find but poor Ophelia in her somewhat odd state.I have to admit - Laertes was always my favourite character in Hamlet....*a Cure CD is thrown at her head*Yes, yes....I know - YOU'RE the prince - YOU'RE the star.....but you have to admit...Laertes is pretty hot!*ducks*Oh dear....his royal highness is much aggrieved I think.Decision time....Laertes or Hamlet? LOL ^_~
Well, we can't let Hamlet hog all the limelight, now can we?Poor Ophelia is starting to lose it....;_;It's another happy day in the state of Denmark. Oh dear....
Things are ever moving..I'm getting more than a little bit exhausted. hehe ^_^I've moved house recently, which is why I've not updated in quite a while. Apologies *bow*Anyways, please enjoy this page preview. Hamlet having a bit of a luke Skywalker moment. hahaha....a costume change too! oooooh....It's not often that the sci fi element of this adaptation comes through - so it's nice to have a chance to really remind the reader of the world we're in.
We've been honoured enough to see the project featured on the wonderful Love Manga blog by David Taylor!http://www.lovemanga.co.uk/2006/07/945/Huge thanks to him for contacting us about the books. ^_^
Hello Shakespeare fans^_^I thought it was about time I posted up another page.This one actually predates the two mini images I showed in the last page...here we can see the scene I mentioned where Hamlet is having to really be cruel to the poor Ophelia. Bear in mind of course that at this stage he is hurting as much as she is! Such a tormented pair.....ooooh the angst! One thing you can be sure of....Hamlet is definately not a comedy. ;_;
Hello! Sorry for the delay in posting my progress, busy as always! ^_^So to make up for my absence, here are several pics for you. I'm taking advantage of the comedy before it all goes tragic, so here are a selection of several chibi-themed pages/pics from Romeo & Juliet! I laughed out loud when I saw Juliet's line, "O, She is LAME!" It's so funny because of its modern usage ^o^~ ~
I've had a solid day of working on yet more depressing pages for our poor prince...He has met Ophelia, his love, in the lobby.....but all too soon he realises that she too is working for 'the dark side'. In order to keep up his pretence, Hamlet must prove to the onlookers he knows are there that Ophelia means nothing to him.It's a scene that takes its toll on both the poor Ophelia, and the ever suffering Hamlet.....at the cost of his revenge he has now been forced to hurt the one he loves.To be or not to be indeed!
Hello again. I really hope you all don't get bored, making a comic is a long and arduous process! ^o^ But it's worth it.Just wanted to say that I'm storyboarding a big chunk of Romeo & Juliet tonight, and the next batch of submissions will take us up to about 100 pages, Woo!I'll put up some eye candy hopefully by tomorrow. See you soon ^_^
